Google Launches Tool to Get Companies to Back Up Their E-mails With Gmail
I think Google Learned something… They cannot win the B2C space vs Facebook. Google still holds significant strength in the business world. They Built their Chrome OS in partnership with CIO’s of major companies. They are now doing a significant release that applies only to business. I would also argue that trends online that start in business do find themselves into the home. There is money to be had in the B2B market online, and Google is going after it really hard.

Fun infographic on the history of the internet. I saw several people talk about the internet starting in 91. While it was important that was not the Genesis.. This infographic is pretty complete!

Facebook provides a way out!

Way Out sign at Warren Street station

When Facebook created the new e-mail system they extended freedom!  Many of you know that Facebook bugs me if you want to know why click —->(here). It seems to me that for the first time they are going to give users a way out! lets talk about how…

I know I have friends (and Im sure you do to) that never check e-mail. To send them something important I gave up long ago reaching out via e-mail. Instead I log into Facebook and hit them up via Private message, not my preference. Personally I would log into Facebook once a week if I could… well now I can! If someone wants to invite me to an event they can send me an e-mail via Facebook! If I need to contact them I can send them an e-mail to their Facebook. In time if I don’t want to log in to Facebook I won’t need to, I have freedom to step away.

If you think Facebook is going to shut down google you are probably a little more than optimistic. I still send e-mails all the time to yahoo and hotmail, why? Because people don’t want to make the switch. I fall under that category as well I won’t make the switch. Facebook messages is not a G-mail killer so much as a freedom giver.
